Tiny Epic Zombie Unboxing

I backed this one on Kickstarter, and it arrived today, which is awesome!  I expect most of these pictures will be nicely duplicated on the Kickstarter page (in better quality!), but heck, doesn't hurt to have them multiple places!

The package, when it arrived, was nice and small, a common theme among their "Tiny Epic" line of games.

Comes with a nice little rulebook (20 pages, including the front and back cover).

The first thing under the rulebook was the Deluxe Edition content.  Four new player cards:
Each player card has a zombie side, as well!
Five Search cards, two new weapons, and a Dog Meeple:
More on the weapons in a bit.

We have a pack of tokens that deal with the scenarios (Room and Objective Tokens):
A die for melee:
Apologies, I could not get this picture any more clear
A stack of 32 search cards, including Zombies, Equipment, and Events:
Four meeples:
Twelve items:
Now, about the items.  The meeples have little holes in their hands.  They can use those holes to carry stuff.  It's pretty adorable:
Ready to kill some zombies...
There are two vehicles that the meeples can ride around in (sorry I didn't take a picture of them doing so!):

There is a bag of Barricades, Objective, and Horde markers:
Tokens and Zombies (18 Zombies, 4 Wound Tokens, and 4 Ammo Tokens):
Nine Mall Cards (these are double sided):
Nine Objective Cards (one side is for a cooperative scenario, the other is for a competitive scenario):
And finally, there are 14 Player Cards:
The components for this game look excellent, and this looks like it will be a blast to get on the table.  It also looks like it'll be something easy to get people to play, as the play time on the box is 30-45 minutes.  I am going to try to get this played on Thursday, but if that fails, I'll try to play it solo at my part-time job.  So hopefully I'll have more to say about this very soon.

Thanks for reading!

Warage Card Game on Kickstarter

Right here.

This is a card game with fixed expansions- the sort of thing I never turn down.  I have seen the first edition of this game in the local game store, but passed at the time.  However, I likely will get in on this kickstarter.  It's already hit its funding point, also!

Anyway, check it out.

Siege Warfare: Greco-Persian Wars on Kickstarter

Here's a link to the second set in the Siege Warfare series.

Normally, I have to go work to find new card games on Kickstarter, but because I backed the first game, they sent a notice.  I love it when things are easy.

This is a non-collectible card game, with fixed decks, deck building, and all that good stuff.  If you like LCGs, this definitely fits.

I can't speak to the game play, unfortunately.  I took the decks I had and played three games with them, having... kind of a mediocre time- BUT, in each game, I found that I was playing a MAJOR rule wrong, and each change has made the game more enjoyable.  Like, I still have yet to play this game correctly, but will likely give it another shot this year.

Why all the mistakes?  Honestly, this isn't that complicated a game, rules-wise, but the rulebook is fairly vague in some places.  The designers have been very good about responding on BGG (which is how I found out mistakes).  I suspect there's a good game here..I just haven't played it yet :)

Current Card Games on Kickstarter, 6/8/2016

Quite a few interesting card games available on Kickstarter at the moment:

DIMENSION: The First Truly Free TCG - this one caught my attention immediately, for obvious reasons.  Free?  TCG?  That bears some looking into.  And indeed, if you check out the project, this is a free game, but one they would like to publish as well.  I can't fault them there (and indeed, I backed this).  I haven't had a chance to print out any of the cards to try it myself, but it's definitely on the radar.

The Bible Trading Card Game - This one neither has an interesting theme for me, nor interesting gameplay, as far as I can tell.  I include it on the chance this is to someone's interest.

Oligarchy: A dystopian card game - This is a straight up TCG with a starter containing 4 decks for about 29 USD, and boosters as well.  There are 8 factions in the game split over 310 cards.  The cards themselves feel a little crowded, but I can't at present comment on the quality of the game.  It's likely I'll back it for at least some amount, and I'll make sure to discuss it once I get some (hey, I should do that for the other card game Kickstarters I've backed...).

Anyone know of any other ones on Kickstarter?  If so, please let me know!

Current Card Games on Kickstarter 5/4/16

Any good card games currently on Kickstarter?

The Dresden Files Cooperative Card Game looks like a sure bet for me to grab.  It's not my 'style' of card game, from what I can tell (I don't build decks pre-game), but the theme is a big plus for me, and it looks like it'll be a really enjoyable game.

9DKP Trading Card Game.  Three different starters (one for each faction).  Rules are posted, plenty of images of cards are posted, and the product looks pretty decent.  It seems like it might be a little simple for my taste.  Additionally, as a TCG, the Booster Packs are kind of the core business model.  It looks like at the highest likely tier anyone would pay, I would get three (in addition to the three starters)?  Why not have additional boosters as an add-on, at the very least?

Gringo-Gaijin's: Dawn of the Aerogirls.  There's a lot wrong here.  First, the title of the product.  Should a possessive go before the colon?  That feels really awkward.  The video of the product even misspells it (as Areogirls).  That's really bad.  Anyway, the game looks to be a CCG with women as the main combatants in some alternate reality World War II.  However, not enough information about the rules or the cards is really given.  I guess they are hoping that anime girls will sell a product by itself?

I keep an eye on Kickstarter from time to time, looking for anything that looks like a card game of my particular taste (separate decks, pre-built before the game).  I have found some decent new games this way- but I do miss a few.  If you come across any, please let me know!
